Press conference on the occation of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the St. Anna Kinderkrebsforschung (Children's Cancer Research Institute)
The Children's Cancer Research Institute has a true story of success to share: Cancer within children is a rare affection and varies in many ways fundamentally from cancer within adults. This is why current cancer treatments are not one-to-one applicable to children. However: three out of four children and adolescents with cancer can be given a longterm cure from cancer. This result is one of the biggest medical breakthroughs.
The St. Anna Kinderkrebsforschung (Children's Cancer Research Insitute) is internationally eminently respectable and St. Anna scientists have dedicated themselves for the past two decades to the improvement of the chances of a cure for young cancer patients. In order to educate the public on the urgency of supporting research, the Institute held a press-conference on Wednesday, November 19th 2008, on occasion of the twenty years of existence of the Children's Cancer Research Institute at the new building, Zimmermanplatz 10, A-1090 Vienna, Austria.
