On occasion of the "Long Night of Children's Cancer Research ", the EU-project OVERCOMING CANCER WITH RESEARCH was represented at an information stand with information material on the project in general as well as on the Sarcoma Awareness Bike Tour and the Student-& Public Forum.
The staff of the St. Anna Kinderkrebsforschung (Children’s Cancer Research Institute) invited the public to experience tours through laboratories and allowed the playful introduction of the daily routines in the labs. The guests followed the lectures, observed lab cells, chromosomes and genes from close up with great attention. They used the opportunity to ask doctors and scientists questions on the treatment of children's cancer. Even Bundespresident Heinz Fischer visited, along with his wife Margit.
