7.,8.03.2008 Project launch at the Brain Tumour Symposium

The “Behandlungsnetzwerk für Kinder mit Hirntumoren” (HIT) (competence network to treat children and adolescents with brain tumours) is a co-project of the work group for brain tumours of the GPOH (Gesellschaft für Pädiatrische Onkologie und Hämatologie, society of pediatric oncology and hematology)) und the German Childhood Cancer Foundation. On occasion of the HIT Symposium, held from the 7th-8th of March in Bonn, Germany, the EC-funded project OVERCOMING CANCER WITH RESEARCH was officially initiated with an information stand and a presentation held by the project-coordinator Prof. Helmut Gadner (head of the St. Anna Kinderkrebs-Forschung and medical director of the St. Anna Children`s Hospital).
The scientific programme of the HIT Symposium contained numerous information for patients, affiliates and considered, aside from medical, also nursing and psychosocial aspects. In the light of the symposium there was also an investigatory meeting dedicated to treatment optimisation studies.
